Following the NATO EOD COE visit of SWEDEC in May 2019, Commanding Officer Captain Royal Sweden Navy (RSwN) Frederik H D Peedu, accompanied by Regimental Sergeant Major Rasmus Garnå visited NATO EOD COE.
On behalf of the NATO EOD COE, LTC Alexander HUGYAR (SVK-A) and Lieutenant Colonel Constantin EFRIM (ROU-A) welcomed the SWEDEC delegation on the 3rd July 2019 at the Military Training Area (MTA) Lest, in Slovakia. They described the NATO EOD COE mission, vision, roles, responsibilities, the Centre’s capstones and its products development.
The SWEDEC delegation briefed about their structure, SWEDEC national Command and Control relationships and about their upcoming commitments.
The visit took place in the premises of MTA Lest to enable observation of the HME-A course organized by NATO EOD COE there. LTC Alexander HUGYAR (SVK-A) appreciated the SWEDEC SMEs` professionalism and willingness to regularly support our HME-A courses. At the same time, Romanian EOD Training Base Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Catalin SARACU accompanied by EOD Chief Instructor Lieutenant Colonel Ionel BACANU were observing the delivery of HME-A course as part of the information exchange process.
The visit of the SWEDEC delegation was concluded by recognizing both NATO EOD COE and SWEDEC common areas of interest and set up conditions for better cooperation between the two institutions.
