The EOD COE delegation represented by LTC Sándor ZSÍROS, MAJ Adrian PETER, MAJ Peter MRÁZIK and Civ Peter Dudra participated in the 62th NATO EOD Working Group meeting held in Oslo, Norway from 26 to 28 Apr 2022.
Aim of the meeting was information exchange, review of ongoing tasks and update on EOD publications. The task of the WG was governed by its Terms of Reference and the MCLSB Direction and Priorities for 2022.
The members of the EOD COE presented Centre`s training activities, provided outcomes from NATO EOD Demonstrations & Trials 2021 and an update of the NATO project “EOD/IEDD Virtual Reality/Extended Reality Training and Combat Support Kit” sponsored by the NATO Defence against Terrorism Programme of Work. The EOD COE also provided update of the 9th EOD Workshop organized and hosted by EOD COE in Trenčín, Slovakia.
The center as the leader of NATO EOD WG Terminology introduced the achievements from the last EOD WG and updates of the EOD terminology entries. Development of EOD terminology is progressing in accordance to NATO Terminology Program.
From August 2019 the EOD Center of Excellence took over custodianship for AJP-3.18 Allied Joint Doctrine for Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Currently the AJP-3.18 is under its revision process and EOD COE provided update to EOD WG members and focusing on main milestones and tasks related to the milestone and responsibilities. Members of the EOD COE also announced upcoming AJP-3.18 Writing session scheduled as face to face meeting in JUN 2022 and will be organised by EOD COE in Piešťany, Slovakia.
The next WG meeting will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark in Oct 2022.
