The NATO EOD COE officially wrapped up its 2025 training program with the final
NATO approved course of the year, the NATO CBRN EOD Incident Management Staff Officer Training (IM SOT), held from 20 OCT to 24 OCT in Trencin, SLOVAKIA.
Focused on operational readiness, the five-day course trains students to manage CBRN EOD incidents in a multinational brigade staff organization and to confidently advise commanders on related issues. As has become customary, days focused purely on theoretical knowledge were reinforced by a live demonstration and later consolidated through a full-day practical exercise designed to apply and validate the newly gained skills.
A total of 10 EOD and CBRN personnel from 7 NATO nations— ITA, POL, ESP, NLD, CZE, PRT, LUX and also from GEO, got familiar with all required NATO EOD - related standards for successful completion. Their success was strongly supported by a carefully selected team of instructors from the Belgian EOD Group, the neighboring JCBRND COE (Czech Republic), HAZMAT / CBRN specialist from Luxembourg and Slovak CBRN Battalion and the 905th Specialized Combat Support Centre.
The NATO EOD COE values every trained student who will further employ the knowledge and skills gained during the course in support of real operational requirements. We are proud to contribute to the continued readiness and resilience of the Alliance. Especially, in the current global security environment, where CBRN and EOD challenges remain ever-present as one of the highest threats.
Join our mission — sharpen your skills and contribute to NATO’s readiness.
