This event, organized by the Defence iQ in London 24-25 September, provided a unique opportunity for the C-IED and EOD community to engage in productive discussions with allied nations alongside industry partners to tackle the complex challenges of tackling explosive threats.
The first day examined the importance of operations and training in tackling emerging threats across the globe and explore the adaptability required to achieve success in different disposal environments. The EOD COE was represented by Colonel Zsolt Szilagyi, who gave a presentation about our COE, our Training Solutions and the Challenges in EOD.
The second day discussed existing technologies used by the military, government agencies and humanitarian operators while looking at requirements to improve the safety and efficiency to disposing of munitions and bombs. Despite progress, challenges persist, and ongoing commitment is required to effectively address the complex issues of explosive hazards globally.
