EOD & Consequence Management Seminar

The seminar objectives were focused on:

• EOD & Consequence Management – definition
• EOD & Consequence Management after terrorist attacks
• Consequence Management in disaster and mass explosions of explosives and ammunition

The EOD COE representatives (Maj Cirjan, Cpt Janovics, Mr Gabris, Mr Zoller, and Mr Fucek) actively participated in the event. The briefing “Perspectives on the exploitation of EOD capabilities within Consequence Management”, given by the EOD COE representative, provided some food for thoughts and following panel discussions were elaborating some EOD perspectives in detail. In spite of some differences in respective national approaches and philosophy concerning the EOD role within Consequence Management the meeting could be considered as a starting point to move this issue forward. It was agreed that the question of relation between EOD and CM will be addressed during the next NATO EOD WG meeting. The NATO EOD COE is going to support SVK MOD with modification of the new questionnaire investigating Consequence Management and EOD roles in respective NATO and PfP countries.
