ETACS Project Testing – Novaky

From 18-20th March 2026, the ETACS project management team within the NATO EOD COE Technology Department successfully conducted a field test at the 905th Specialized Combat Support Center  in Nováky. This validation process was implemented in close cooperation with fifth-year cadets from the Armed Forces Academy (AOS) in Liptovský Mikuláš and the representatives of 4Experience – the virtual reality software development company working on the ETACS project.

During the three-day program, students completed complex theoretical and practical modules based on the following key pillars:

  • Integration of Simulated and Live Operations: Participants performed EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) tasks modeled in a virtual environment in parallel with physical execution.
  • Comparative Analysis: The dual execution of tasks allowed for a direct comparison between the virtual platform and live operational protocols.
  • Professional Feedback: The structured feedback provided by the cadets yielded critical data regarding the authenticity, efficiency, and future development paths of the virtual training environment.

The testing period highlighted the importance of synergy between digital simulations and field practice, contributing significantly to the technological fine-tuning of the ETACS project.
