Integration of the Exoskeleton in the Battlefield - 2nd Workshop

As a part of the Integration of the Exoskeleton in the Battlefield project, the second Workshop was held in the Military Base Maj Housiau Quartier Peutie, Vilvoorde, Belgium on 6-8 March 2018.

The project is sponsored through DAT POW (Defense against Terrorism Program of Work). The initial workshop (14-15 November 2017) held in Trenčín, Slovakia, set the general framework to draft Minimum Military Requirements (MMR) for the exoskeleton in support of EOD operators and highlighted the first initial requirements and issues for integration of exoskeletons in EOD operations.

The main objective of the 2nd  IEBWS was to investigate and prove how the exoskeleton technology, currently available in the market, may apply direct assistance to the EOD operations and how it can support and enhance the EOD team mobility, endurance, precision on target and increase the payload capacity.

During the workshop, MMR were reviewed and two live trials were executed, when EOD teams conducted IEDD and CMD action using exoskeleton technologies.

Successful event finished at the NATO HQ, where the concept of the project as well as current achievements were presented during the meeting of NADREPs  (National Armament Directors Representatives).

More information will be available in EOD/IEDD Catalogue.
