NATO EOD COE hosted the 2nd NATO RTG SCI-298 Task Group Meeting for Identification and Neutralization Methods and Technologies for C-IED

Regarding to SCI-298 Programme of Work the 2nd Task Group Meeting was held on 6-7 December 2017 at the NATO EOD COE in Trencin. 

The SCI-298 RTG aims to follow the process undertaken by the SCI-233 RTG, but it will specifically address the capabilities and limitations of identification and neutralization technologies and combinations of systems.  Specifically, the TG will define a representative set of threat items and components, describe relevant scenarios for identification and neutralization, and assess of the performance of the individual and combinations of technologies for the defined threats and scenarios.

The TG will make an inventory of all conceivable technologies and methods for the identification and neutralization of IEDs. As a second step, the TG will assess the suitability and current and future (i.e. after foreseen development) performance of these technologies and methods for representative threat items in relevant scenarios.

Six countries (AUS, DEU, FRA, GBR, NLD, USA) and six international institutions (STO, CSO SCI Panel, C-IED CoE, EOD CoE, MILENG CoE, ACT) are taking part in this Task Group.
