From 28 MAR 2022 to 08 APR 2022, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) Mobile Training Team conducted the NATO EOD Staff Officer Training (NATO EOD SOT) in Wroclaw, Poland.
The training event brought together EOD Subject Matter Experts from Armed Forces of NATO member states as well as Interoperability Platform countries, United Nations, EOD related industry, Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) COE and the Joint Chemical, Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defence (JCBRND) COE.
Twenty students were enlisted to NATO EOD SOT 2022 from NATO and Interoperability Platform countries. Specifically, Belgium (1), the Czech Republic (1), France (1), Hungary (1), Italy (1), Norway (1), Poland (11), Portugal (1) and Slovakia (2). During the two-week period, students faced to numerous briefings and practical exercises with Explosive Ordnance (EO) related Risk & Threat management, EOD capabilities and limitations, as well as scenario-based EOD training in support of multinational operations.
The desired output of the NATO EOD SOT for graduates is to deliver knowledge and experience how to command, control, coordinate, contribute and advice commanders in multinational EOD deployment at the brigade and battalion level of command.
All trainees fulfilled the criteria, successfully completed the course and received graduation certificates at the end of the course.
