The Hellenic Directorate of the Engineers hosted the 22nd Military Engineering Working Group (MILENG WG) Meeting over the period 13-17 JUNE 2022, in Loutraki, Greece.
The aim of this group is to improve military engineering capabilities within NATO capability development framework. The MILENG WG encompasses all Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities and Interoperability (DOTMLPFI) domains of MILENG and focuses on integrating operational standards, doctrine, training, procedures, terminology, armaments and equipment in order to ensure complete, sustainable MILENG capabilities.
For the first time, the number of participants exceeded 130. They were from NATO nations, partner nations, NATO structures, and civil companies.
Following the approved agenda, all the panels had fruitful discussions and debates. In the end, the chairman was able to report several improvements for MILENG community of interest, which are essential for current and future NATO operations.
MAJ Adrian PETER (ROU-A) participated to this event as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) representative. He brought his contribution to this working group especially in the field of Terminology, Doctrine and Standardization. EOD COE continuing participation to this Working Group is vital, since EOD is one of the five areas of expertise of MILENG. “Interoperability is a question of Attitude!”
