On 15 January, the MILENG COE delegation led by Colonel LUDWIG (DEU-A), paid a visit to the NATO EOD COE in Trencin, Slovakia.
The main purpose of the visit was to exchange information about the Centres’ mission, long and short term objectives as well as fields of cooperation in support of both institutions and their area of interest.
The MILENG COE delegation was welcomed by the director Colonel CSASZAR (SVK-A).
The department heads of EOD COE, namely LTC EFRIM (ROU-A) , LTC HUGYAR (SVK-A), LTC WACLAWIK (POL-A) briefed the audience about the recent achievements and future goals in the field of Concept Development, Education and Training, Technologies and Experimentation.
Then, MILENG director Colonel LUDWIG (DEU-A) elaborated on how the MILENG COE supports the Alliance military engineering aspects in infrastructure, military search, EOD and environmental protection specialized areas. He especially highlighted the MILENG function, which is multidisciplinary and includes EOD specialized area.
During the meeting, both COEs’ directors agreed and declared to continue, develop and support the mutual cooperation in 2020.
At the end of the visit, Colonel LUDWIG appreciated a thanked for the NATO EOD COE hospitality contribution and signed the NATO EOD COE Book of Honour.
