LTC Constantin EFRIM, Head of Transformation Support Department of NATO EOD COE, together with LTC Alexander HUGYAR, Head of Education and Training Department, participated in the 19th NATO Military Engineering Working Group (MILENG WG) meeting held in Ingolstadt, Germany from 25 to 31 JAN 2020.
More than 120 participants, representing 23 NATO nations and Partners, NATO Force Commands (NFC), NATO Force Structure (NFS), Joint Force Commands (JFC) and Centres of Excellence (COEs), attended the activity.
The entire event was highlighting the challenges in the current threat environment that deserves more demand on national MILENG capabilities. Especially, the mobility, counter mobility, infrastructure were the hottest topics of discussions.
Nevertheless, the recognized areas of MILENG expertise will be more required to reinforce the comprehensive function of MILENG as infrastructure, EOD, Military Search, and Environmental protection does.
Using the opportunity, LTC Constantin EFRIM as the EOD COE Head of delegation invited and encouraged the MILENG WG participants to join the upcoming EOD Demonstrations and Trials 2020 event in Bratislava, focused on Technological innovations influencing future EOD and related capabilities.
Both EOD COE representatives participated also in two different preparatory meetings on Monday 24 Jan 2020.
The next NATO MILENG WG meeting will be held in Ingolstadt, Germany, in June 2020.
