From April 7 to 10, 2025, the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) conducted its 30th Steering Committee (SC) meeting in Budapest, Hungary. LTC Ján Adamuško of the Slovak Armed Forces chaired the event, which was attended by representatives from all Sponsoring Nations, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the EOD COE community.
The meeting focused on key topics critical to the Centre’s mission. Participants reviewed the 2024 Financial Statement and Financial Audit Report to ensure transparency and accountability in resource management. Other discussions included the proposed Education and Individual Training (E&IT) Calendar for 2026 and updates to the EOD COE’s Program of Work (POW). These deliberations are critical to the EOD COE’s continued success in its commitment to advancing EOD capabilities within NATO and partner nations.
The event included a visit to the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) 1st EOD and Riverine Guard Regiment, which provided valuable insights into Hungary’s expertise in EOD, including their innovative use of robots and other advanced technologies for bomb disposal and riverine security tasks.
The NATO EOD COE would like to recognize and express its gratitude to its Hungarian hoss for the exceptional organisation and preparation of this event. The high level of professionalism ensured a productive meeting and a memorable visit, further strengthening ties within the EOD community.
