The Change of Command Ceremony took place at the Garrison Club in Trenčín and was attended by numerous high ranking military and civilian representatives partner nations and dignitaries.
Among distinguished guests were Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš, Chief of Defence General Milan Maxim, Deputy Chief of Defence Lieutenat General Pavel Macko, and Directors of MILENG COE, MILMED COE, JCBRN COE, C-IED COE.
During last four years, it is apparent that Colonel Mrváň has done an excellent job and together with his team has contributed vastly to this unique organization. The Centre gained a status of the NATO accredited Education and Training Facility, including unconditional Quality Assurance and has broadened its cooperation with MILENC COE, Germany and C-IED COE, Spain.
After four very successful, but challenging years, Colonel Mrváň handed over the command and responsibility of the Centre of Excellence for Explosive Ordnance Disposal to his successor Colonel Róbert Császár.
Colonel Róbert Császár, the new commander, is an experienced commander and a genuine engineer by his military education and military career at different posts and levels of command while serving in the Armed Forces. He has first-hand experience of ISAF peace mission as an Engineer Company Commander as well as Senior Engineer Officer during his serving at JFC Naples, Italy and JFC Brunssum, The Netherlands. This experience together with those he gained as the commander of the National EOD and RCHBO Centre will be a source of great ideas and enthusiasm.
