In the period of 16 to 17 September 2024, the NATO EOD COE’s delegation composed of the Director, COL. Frantisek MIHALOVIC, and the Head of Transformation Support Department, MAJ. Adrian PETER, had a working visit to the Romanian Protection and Guard Service (PGS) in Bucharest.
The purpose of the event was to promote, facilitate and consolidate the cooperation in education & training, research & development, analysis & lessons learned, and information exchange, based on the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit. After introducing PGS and EOD COE’s capabilities in these areas, and having as a reference the Framework Collaboration Agreement between these two institutions, the participants decided on the way-ahead activities. The visit ended with a highly appreciated tour of the Palace of Parliament.
The day of 18 September 2024 was dedicated to a working visit to Romanian Army Combat Support Training Centre (CSTC) in Ramnicu Valcea.
The aim of the visit was to assess the benefits and shortfalls of the current collaboration in the field of EOD. The timing was perfect since, in the period of 17-19 September 2024, the second iteration of the Home-Made Explosive Course Basic (02-24 HMEC-B) was being conducted. The delegation had the chance to receive valuable feed-back from all the involved personnel: organizers, admin staff, instructors and students. The conclusion was that the collaboration between EOD COE and CSTC is excellent and needs to continue in the same manner.
