Kick-Off Meeting for Quality Assurance 2025

As part of the EOD COE Quality Assurance (QA) Plan 2025, the Centre held its QA Kick-Off Meeting on 21 February 2025. During the meeting, Director COL František Mihalovič assigned members of the Education & Training Department as Course Directors (CDs) for the courses scheduled for 2025.

To formalize their roles, COL Mihalovič presented authorization letters and certificates to the designated Course Directors, delegating their responsibilities for overseeing all aspects of training event coordination. He emphasized the critical role of Course Directors throughout the entire process—from preparation and execution to final evaluation and conclusion.

In 2025, EOD COE will deliver a total of eight iterations of Education & Individual Training courses, along with an Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) course.

The appointed Course Directors are:

• NATO EOD Doctrine Course (ADL) – LTC Alexander Hugyar, PhD
• NATO EOD Staff Officer Training (SOT) – CPT Radek Michalka
• Home-Made Explosives Course – Advanced (HMEC-A) – MAJ Marek Vlnka
• Home-Made Explosives Course – Basic (HMEC-B) – MSGT Stanislav Macura
• NATO CBRN EOD Incident Management Staff Officer Training (IM SOT) – MAJ Marek Vlnka (2LT Katarína Lichvarčíková will assume this role upon completion of her PDP)

The excellence of these courses is ensured not only by internal subject matter experts but also through close collaboration with external military organizations, industry, and academia.
