First meeting of NATO Technical Exploitation Group

LTC Constantin EFRIM – head of EOD COE Transformation Support Department accompanied by LTC Milan Jankura participated in the inaugural meeting of the NATO Technical Exploitation Group (NTEG).

Evolving from existing informal NATO Technical Exploitation community of interest, the formal creation of NTEG was last year agreed by the NATO Political Committee – including the NTEG Terms of Reference.

The meeting, held from 21 to 22 January 2020 at NATO HQ in Brussels, was organized by the NATO International Staff Emerging Security Challenges Division which also provided the NTEG chairman.

Main aim of the meeting was to develop the first draft of NATO Technical Exploitation (TE) Policy and approve the NTEG Programme of Work (POW).

Majority of countries were represented together with members of NATO HQ, NATO Command structure, and selected COEs supporting significantly the Defence Against Terrorism Programme of Work. All of them actively participated to the development of the NATO TE Policy.

The aim of next NTEG meeting will be to finalize the NATO TE Policy.
