The 24th C-IED WG Meeting

The United States Army in close coordination with the Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices Centre of Excellence (C-IED COE) organized the 24th Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices Working Group (C-IED WG). The meeting was held at the Embassy Suites, Alexandria Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, USA from 5 to 9 December 2022.

The main effort of the meeting was the revision of STANAG 2295 and STANAG 2294 in accordance with NATO Military Committee Land Standardization Board (MCLSB) guidance.
In the same time, the event was a good opportunity for developing relations and information sharing. Some of the current C-IED challenges faced by NATO nations, command structures and force structures were discussed. The common approach to C-IED issues will be addressed in the new version of AJP-3.15 (NATO C-IED Doctrine).

MAJ Adrian PETER (ROU-A), the Head of Transformation Support Department (TSD) at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE), joined the working group and brought his contribution to the Doctrine and Terminology Panel (DTP). Besides that, he delivered a presentation regarding the current status of the EOD COE’s XR/VR Project (ETACS).
The EOD COE will continue to play an active role in the C-IED Community of Interest by providing updated information from the EOD field of expertise.
