Representatives of NATO EOD COE, participated in the 65th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Inter-service Working Group (EOD WG) meeting which took place at Club Hotel Loutraki, Greece (GRC) from 16th to 20th October 2023. The meeting was hosted by GRC MILENG School and organized by GRC MILENG Directory.
In accordance with the NATO Military Committee Land Standardization Board (MCLSB) direction and priorities for 2023, COL Timothy GOULD (GBR) – newly appointed the EOD WG Chairperson introduced the aim of the meeting and emphasized the importance of the information exchange within EOD community of interest as well as revision of EOD publications.
The following identified priorities are to finalize the review of STANAG 2282 - Allied Tactical Publication for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (ATP-3.18.1), continue with the review of STANAG 2377 - EOD Roles, Responsibilities, Capabilities and Incident Procedure (AEODP-13) and Conduct a NATO EOD post war in Ukraine estimate in order to focus the NATO EOD WG on Doctrine, Training, Equipment, and Information.
EOD COE members, namely COL MIHALOVIČ, MAJ MRAZIK, CPT BRAUN and Civ. DUDRA, participated in majority of EOD WG Panels (Doctrine and Philosophy Panel, Maritime Environment Panel, TTP and Standardization Panel) where they brought their perspectives and contribution. Director of the EOD COE, COL František MIHALOVIČ, was also approved as new EOD WG Co-chairperson.
The next 66th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Inter-service Working Group meeting is planned in April 2024 in Madrid, Spain.
