19th NATO Concept Development and Experimentation Conference

The International Concept Development and Experimentation (ICD&E) Conference is the annual forum of Supreme Allied Command Transformation and US Joint Staffs that provides  a unique opportunity for the international Concept Development and Experimentation community and stakeholders to discuss the most current issues of concept development and experimentation in the capability development process.

The 19th ICD&E Conference was organized from 29 to 31 October 2019 in Madrid, Spain, and was attended by more than 300 delegates from 32 nations, including 10 COEs. Main themes of this year's Conference were Innovations, Leadership and Decision Making.  Eight workshops with various topics organized within the ICD&E Conference covered areas as Artificial Intelligence, Countering UASs, Coherent Deterrence or Future Wargamings. As a part of the agenda a Mini Expo (CD&E Exchange) was organized at the end of the second day of the conference.

The aim of the activity was to provide an opportunity for CD&E personnel to build Communities of Interest for their projects, discuss the mechanics of CD&E, advertise their expertise and share best practices. The activities of the EOD COE were presented by LTC Milan JANKURA (Transformation Support department).

The next, the 20th ICD&E Conference, is foreseen to take place in France in Autumn 2020.
