Delegates from partner nations, Partnership Cooperation Menu, relevant NATO military bodies (MILENG, EOD, C-IED COEs) and other NATO entities (ACO, ACT) participated in the event. Further more the representative of Afghan Ministry of Interior, C-IED directorate – BG M. PAIGHAM paid a visit to the session in order to inform about Afghan C-IED/EOD concept and its implementation.
EOD COE DDIR LTC Richard VIDAL (FRA-A) provided an update on outputs from the NATO EOD Demonstrations and Trials 2012, held from 18 – 20 September 2012 in Trenčín, Slovakia. C-IED Chairman outlined the necessity to deliver good military requirements to industrial companies in order to avoid any technological inappropriate rush.
LTC Ret Daniel ZOLLER (SVK-A) provided an update on EOD terminology and debate was focused on issue between overlapping EOD and C-IED terms. Delegates tackled relationship between EOD and C-IED and potential co-location of EOD and C-IED WG meetings was addressed.
