Development of our COI

To develop our Community of Interest (COI) Colonel Zsolt Szilágyi, the NATO EOD COE Chief of Staff, and Master Sergeant Gábor Korom, the NCO of the NATO EOD COE Technology Department and Deputy Project Leader of the ETACS project, conducted a visit to the Hungarian Defence Forces 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal and River Guard Regiment on 21-22.03.2024. The purpose of the visit was not only to present the structure and courses of the NATO EOD COE but also to showcase the development of VR (Virtual Reality) training tools, which is being carried out within the framework of the NATO EOD COE ETACS project.

During the event, while Colonel Zsolt Szilágyi and Colonel László Lengyel held discussions on future collaboration, Master Sergeant Gábor Korom provided detailed information to the EOD platoon leaders, patrol leaders, and soldiers about the development of VR training and its potential. The briefing emphasized the importance of using innovative tools in training.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for all participants to promote information exchange and collaboration.

As the second part of the program, Colonel Szilágyi visited Major Anita Tóth, the Quality Manager of MILMED CEO. In the framework of the bilateral meeting, the NATO Quality Assurance Management System and its role were reviewed. They informed each other about their organization's QA activities, and Major Anita Tóth shared her experiences with Colonel Szilágyi.
