EOD COE on the 2024 NATO COE Marketplace

The event took place at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, from 22 to 23 May 2024 and was a great opportunity for our Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) to promote our work and share examples of our products and outputs delivered to NATO on behalf of our sponsoring nations.

The aim of the 2024 COE Marketplace was to provide an opportunity for all staff and national personnel at NATO HQ to meet representatives of the 28 NATO-accredited Centres of Excellence (COEs) and recognize, understand, and embrace the value of the expertise, support, and advice provided by these NATO-affiliated organizations to the Alliance.

This third iteration of the Centres of Excellence Marketplace was opened by Acting Assistant Secretary General – Defence Investment Mr. Robert Weaver and Deputy Chief of Staff Joint Force Development Rear Admiral Placido Torresi. During the afternoon of Wednesday, 22 May, and the morning of Thursday, 23 May, each Centre had the opportunity to showcase contributions made to the Alliance and for all international staff and international military staff personnel of NATO headquarters to recognize, understand, and embrace the value of the expertise, support, and advice provided by the 29 NATO-accredited Centres.

Additionally, on Thursday, May 23, each of the 30 NATO Centres of Excellence directors was invited to attend a dedicated session with Mr. Robert Weaver and Rear Admiral Placido Torresi. Different NATO key topics of interest were proposed, such as Interoperability and Standardization, the NATO Intelligence Enterprise, cooperation with the NATO Army Armament Group, and the NATO Air Force Armament Group work.

Our director, COL František MIHALOVIČ (SVK-A), LT David Slatkovský (SVK-A), and MSGT Gábor Korom (HUN-A), presented the activities of our Centre in Brussels.
