NATO EOD Staff Officer Training Mobile Training Team

In accordance with the Romanian Armed Forces operational needs, the NATO EOD COE delivered in a form of Mobile Training Team (MTT) the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Staff Officer Training (NATO EOD SOT). The NATO EOD SOT MTT was held in the Combat Support Training Centre in Ramnicu Valcea (ROU) from 11th NOV to 22nd NOV 2024.

The NATO EOD SOT was conducted with the assistance of Subject Matter Experts from various training facilities such as 905th SCSC Novaky (SVK), CIED COE Madrid (ESP), MILENG COE (DEU), JCBRND COE Vyskov (CZE), JISR Institute Prostejov (CZE), LNAF TRADOC Adazi (LVA), Combat Support Training Centre Ramnicu Valcea (ROU) and UNMAS New York (USA) in order to warrant the most up-to-date knowledge and experience from all over the world.

During the two weeks’ period, 16 students with the either EOD and Non-EOD background faced to theoretical lectures, numerous briefings and practical exercises dealing with Explosive Ordnance related Risk & Threat management, EOD capabilities and limitations, as well as scenario-based EOD training.

Reflecting the course completion criteria, all trainees met minimum requirements to  complete successfully the course that results were awarded by issuing the NATO Approved course graduation certificates. In students’ evaluation feedbacks, the graduates of the NATO EOD SOT MTT course expressed satisfaction with the NATO EOD SOT content as well as high quality of the course delivery.

The next iteration of the NATO EOD SOT course is planned at the Military Engineering and CBRN Training Centre in Wroclaw, Poland from the 31st  MAR to 11th  APR 2025 that registration will be opened since DEC 2025.
