ETACS 2026 User Tests

From 18-20 March 2026, the ETACS project team in cooperation with 905th Centre of Specialized Combat Support in Nováky and Slovak Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik conducted a testing of the ETACS system in the settings of a real EOD course.

The SHAPE MILENG Strategic Alignment Conference was organized by NATO SHAPE in Mons, Belgium on 22-23 APR 2026. The event provided an overview on the main strategic MILENG topics after the areas of expertise.
The 70th EOD WG, place where EOD is brewed

First and foremost a huge ‘’Thank you’’ to Belgium Armed Forces for excellent organization of 70th EOD WG meeting, which took place in Brugge. Participation of this meeting consisted of EOD COE delegation headed by director of EOD COE COL Frantisek Mihalovic supplemented by deputy director Lt COL Blake ZENTENO (U.S. Army) and others SMEs.
Combined Annual Discipline Conference

From 24 MAR to 26 MAR 2026, the Military Engineering Centre of Excellence (MILENG CoE) hosted the Combined Annual Discipline Conference (CADC) in Ingolstadt, Germany. The conference brought together three key disciplines to address Education and Training (E&T) solutions for capability gaps identified by SHAPE and the respective Requirements Authority (RA).
President of the Slovak Republic Visits the NATO EOD Centre of Excellence

The NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (NATO EOD COE) was honoured to host a distinguished guest, the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini. Upon arrival, the President was formally welcomed by Major General Ivan Balog, the Land Forces Commander and the Commander of Trenčin Garrison, alongside Colonel František Mihalovič, Director of the NATO EOD COE. The official program commenced with an in-depth briefing by Colonel Mihalovič, who outlined the Centre’s strategic mission, vision, tasks and the long-term objectives of the NATO EOD COE.
ETACS Project Testing – Novaky

From 18-20th March 2026, the ETACS project management team within the NATO EOD COE Technology Department successfully conducted a field test at the 905th Specialized Combat Support Center in Nováky. This validation process was implemented in close cooperation with fifth-year cadets from the Armed Forces Academy (AOS) in Liptovský Mikuláš and the representatives of 4Experience – the virtual reality software development company working on the ETACS project.
MINE ACTION 2026

We were honoured to take part in the 22nd International Symposium “Mine Action 2026,” held in Split, Croatia, from 23 to 25 March 2026. This edition was especially notable due to the announcement that Croatia has been declared a mine-free country after 30 years of humanitarian demining.
NATO Defense College Delegation Strengthens Strategic Ties with NATO EOD COE in Trencin

On 20 MAR 2026, the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) received a distinguished delegation from the NATO Defense College (NDC) and the NATO Regional Cooperation Course 35 (NRCC 35). Led by BGEN Ferenc MOLNAR (HDF), Director of the Academic Operations Division, and BGEN (Res) Ylli PULAJ (ALB), the visitors were welcomed by the Director of the EOD COE, COL Frantisek MIHALOVIC (SVK-A).
NATO EOD Staff Officer Training Course Successfully Conducted in Trenčín, Slovakia

From 02 FEB to 13 FEB 2026, the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Staff Officer Training Course was successfully conducted in Trenčín, Slovakia. The course was delivered under the auspices of the NATO EOD Centre of Excellence as part of its official Programme of Work and in response to current operational requirements.

On February 26, 2026, the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Central European CBRN-E Training Centre (CE CBRN-E TC).
