In line with the cooperation agreement between NATO EOD COE and the Romanian Land Forces Command, the NATO EOD COE has delivered two iterations of the Homemade Explosives Course – Basic (HMEC-B) at the Romanian Combat Support Training Centre in Ramnicu Valcea.
COE Directors Conference 2023

The NATO Command and Control Center of Excellence (C2 COE), in close coordination with the Supreme Allied Command Transformation (HQ SACT), organised the NATO-Accredited COE Directors' Conference in Amsterdam (NLD) from 24 to 27 September 2023. The AJP-3.8 Data Fusion Workshop

The Directorate of Joint Force Development (JFD) from the Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT), following the Allied Joint Doctrine Plan (AJDCP), organized the Data Fusion Workshop related to AJP-3.8, Allied Joint Doctrine for Comprehensive Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence, from 11th to 13th of July 2023 in Vyskov, Czech Republic. The host of the event was the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN Defence COE).
Farewell to the Chief of Staff

The EOD COE members bade farewell to the Chief of Staff COL József CSUKA (HUN-A) after one year of his dedicated service for NATO EOD COE. The EOD COE director, COL Róbert CSÁSZÁR expressed his huge appreciation to COS for his valuable contribution to our EOD COE family, steadfast work, friendship and building of excellent interpersonal relations with a words: József, you are that type of a good colleague with whom it is easy to work with, difficult to find and almost impossible to forget! It was a pleasure and great honor to have you in our team.

Testing of the training and combat support kit in Hungary

From 06 JUL to 07 JUL 2023, MSGt Gabor KOROM, the NATO EOD COE EOD/IEDD VR/XR Training and Combat Support Kit (ETACS) Deputy Project Manager (DPM), led the third ETACS field test. The two days testing of ETACS was held and supported by the Hungarian EOD & River Flotilla Regiment in Budapest.

9th C-IED Lesson L earned Workshop

C-IED COE organized the 9th C-IED Lesson L earned Workshop from 6 to 8 Jun 2023 at its premises in Hoyo de Manzanares, Spain. The aim of the event was to contribute to the NATO Lessons Learned process and to increase the knowledge of missions that different nations/agencies are conducting in countries with an IED threat in order to facilitate and enhance interaction in the multinational C-IED community.

64th EOD Inter-Service Working Group Meeting

Representatives of NATO EOD COE participated in the 64th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Inter-service Working Group (EOD WG) meeting which took place at HMS President in London, United Kingdom from 22nd to 26th of May 2023.
In accordance with the NATO Military Committee Land Standardization Board (MCLSB) direction and priorities for 2023, COL ILLINGWORTH (GBR) - the Chairperson introduced the aim of the meeting and emphasized the importance of the information exchange within EOD community of interest´s as well as the revision of EOD publications and related EOD´s NATO terminology.
Delivery of two iterations HomeMade Explosive Course – Advanced

From 15-18 MAY 2023 and from 22-26 MAY 2023, NATO EOD COE organized two iterations of the Homemade Explosive Course - Advanced (HMEC-A) in Training Centre Lest, Slovakia. The HMEC-A introduces to responding personnel the precursors used by criminals and terrorists in the manufacturing process of homemade explosives, along with the synthetized finished explosive mixtures.
