14th Annual International Meeting of EOD and Bomb technicians- INMEP 2017

The 14th annual INMEP 2017 meeting was hosted by the 15th Engineer Regiment Bechyne, CZE. In the event, there approx. 190 EOD and bomb technicians from 10 countries took part, including 7 EOD related commercial companies.

After extraordinary support provided by Italian C-IED COE in favour to NATO EOD COE delivered CBRN EOD Incident Management Staff Officer Training (CBRN EID IM SOT) and further - detailed recognition of the institutions mission, Commander of Italian Engineers Brigadier General Francesco BINDI made official with his presence the ceremony of signing of the Technical Arrangement (TA) between Italian C-IED COE and NATO EOD COE.

In 2017 the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) with cooperation with NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency and financed by Defence Against Terrorism Programme of Work (DAT POW) launched the "Integration of the Exoskeleton in the battlefield” project.

Reflecting NATO EOD COE effort to increase and bring together the EOD family, Director of the NATO EOD COE Colonel Lubomir Mrvan accepted invitation for visiting the Hellenic Engineer School in Loutraki, Greece. Base on agreement with BG Ilias Arsenos, Commandant of the Hellenic Engineer School, visit of the Greek engineer education and training facility was held from 03 APR to 05 APR 2017.
Home-Made Explosives Courses - Basic in Bechyňe, Czech Republic

the EOD COE Training Branch organized two iterations of the Homemade Explosives Course – basic. The individual courses were performed with the assistance of Subject Matter Experts from Ammunition Testing Centre Novaky and Institute of Energetic Materials (University of Pardubice, Czech Republic).
All course iterations were performed in the form of a mobile training team within the premises of the 15th Engineer Regiment in Bechyně, the Czech Republic.
Northern Challenge Exercise Initial Planning Conference 2017

The exercise NORTHERN CHALLENGE is a Multi-National Bomb Disposal Exercise at the top of Europe which takes place at the Icelandic Coast Guard facility in Keflavik, Iceland. The exercise itself consists of series of conferences which purpose is to create the best conditions for the two weeks running EOD scenarios practice in Land and Maritime environment.

The IEODSOT was the first course organized by the EOD COE in 2017. The iteration lasted from 6 till 14 February 2017 with participation of 17 students (16 from NATO countries and 1 from Finland).

Arctic Specialist Exercise 2017 (AS EXER 2017)

Exercise EXER 2017 is an annual Multi-National Interservice EOD exercise hosted by Norwegian NAVAL base (NAVBS) in Ramsund. Aim of the exercise is to provide training, exercise and development of land and maritime EOD Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) at the squad and team level, in cold weather environment (CWE).

From 19th to 20th January 2017, the Director of the NATO EOD Centre of Excellence received the delegation from Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) - Mr Samuel PAUNILA, the Advisor, Ammunition Operations, accompanied by Mr John RAWSON, the Advisor, Ammunition Safety Management.

The EOD COE co-organized and supported the running enterprise of Horyzonty Film Festival for a third time. This year the run was held on 12th November in the centre of Trencin.
